Veratti

Trieste — Since 2014

Coffee, the Trieste way.

Single-origin espresso and beans roasted three blocks from the harbor.

Espresso pull on marble counter

Est. in Trieste

We started Veratti on a quiet corner of Via San Nicolò with one drum roaster, a stubborn lever machine, and a list of farms we believed in. A decade on, the list is longer — the standards haven't moved.

What we do

Roasted small. Pulled slow.

01

Espresso Bar

A short bar, a long ritual. Standing-room espresso, macchiato, and cappuccino pulled to order from morning through aperitivo.

02

Filter & Pour-Over

V60 and Kalita brewed by the cup with this week's lightest roasts. Slow service, clean cups, every origin on a card.

03

Whole Bean Retail

250g bags roasted weekly, dated on the seal. Take home what you tasted, or ask the bar to grind for your setup.

The roaster

From the harbor, with crema.

Marco Veratti learned to roast in his uncle's drum behind a fishmonger in Barcola. He buys green coffee twice a year, travels to the farms when he can, and roasts every Tuesday before the bar opens. The house espresso is a Brazil-Ethiopia blend built for milk and stubborn enough to drink black.

"A good espresso is honest work. You taste the farm, the roast, and whoever is standing behind the lever — in that order."
